Working kinder hard, as we're shipping 70 tusks to NY. on the "Herzog" tomorrow. Rather a good shipment, which will help the commission acct. nicely. We need it this quarter, with Doctor's bills and furniture. Doc says his bill for Stewart is going to be high. Still, I guess 82 Beaver can stand a little once in a while. I've not cost them a pie that way so far,- knock wood, - but my time is surely coming. They never escape down here.

It was the Kid's turn today. Tomorrow it'll be mine. Today my better half is a whole year older than the other portion of the sketch. I think its about time we broke into double harness. This single life isn't all its cracked up to be. Tomorrow I'll be doing the housekeep act, with about a dozen black pot-wallopers around the place, & I can see where I'm going to have my hands full with this problem. Gee, I wish I'd cabled for her a month ago!
