Yessir, there are about 150 tusks over in that godown. Of course, some of 'em will be chucked out, but still I think I'll have a record shipment. I gave old Alidina a cheque for seventy thousand rupees on account! That's a mere $23000.

We are still working. Tuesday morning, after Stewart went, I had so much ahead of me that I seriously thought of buying a Parsee clerk - beg, pardon, "clark", - but today the pumps are beginning to gain. Just the same, I'd rather be busier than hell than be killing time. A man ought to have his mind occupied out here, - otherwise he'll surely get into some mischief or other.

Got a new president today! Teddy is an "ex", - he has served his mission, and deserves the thanks of eighty millions, but now let's get back to the Constitution!
