Had a busy morning. Mr. Gottschalk and I made the round of the firms in town, and I guess I toted him around to about all of them. Got in a little while at the office later on, and sorted over some tusks. Will have another shipment before the month is out, I guess.

Mr. Gottschalk came over and dined with me this evening, and I hope enjoyed the [[strikeout]] [[unreadable]] [[/strikeout]] evening as much as I did. The cook was in better shape than I dared hope he would be, but at that it isn't saying much. But after the "Grand" [[strikeout]] [[unreadable]] [[/strikeout]] anything is acceptable.

I did nothing today but putter around a little bit in the office this morning. Posted a few items and let it go at that. After the strenuous week just past I think I deserved a day to mine own selluf. He and I are stuck on each other, we are.
