So-so today. Sent off a few telegrams, and made a damned fool of myself in the morning by buying a Gendi cutch off Nassir Mewji, for soft. Old Alidina Tajpod came in and gave me the hoarse and metallic ha ha. Oh, well, I know I'm no bloomin' hexpert,- if that's the first one, I'm quite content. I sold it to Tajpod, but it cost me thirtyeight rupees. Coises!

So-so again. This time it was the opposition's turn to be the goat, and they made twice as bally a bull as I did. I had that tusk in my godown,-it was a nice eightyfour pounder, but as we were not buying Gendi,- save in one or two isolated cases like that of yesterday,- I sent it back. The Hindi took it over to Josephs, and he bought it for soft,- twenty dollars above what it was worth! It will stand them about 100 rupees. That's more than Jo [[underlined]] made [[/underlined]] today. I'll bet a hat.

Dot bootiful ole pup came home from quarantine today. So he did.
