Orders is to ship our stock Monday. The Agency is doing a good business this quarter. Seven shipments and there'll be well over two thousand rupees commission. Stewart's sickness was a bad thing for us, but that will be off the books end of the month, and with good luck we ought to show something good this next quarter. I should be pleased if the powers that be should consider it good enough to stand an increase for the Editor.

I had some luck today. Mr. Gottschalk asked me if I would care to take on the Consular Agent's job here, in case his recommendation was favorably acted upon at home. Of course I said it would afford me a great deal of pride to have the appointment, if my application was passed, so he offered to recommend me for it. Of course I'm tickled at the prospect of having the Eagle over the door, and the flag hung out, and being the representative of the good old USA. I think I would appreciate the honor of it to its fullest extent.

If Wm. H. v Philander C. will only be nice to me I shall have it all!
