Wot did I tell you last Friday? Well, old Tejpar waltzed into the office this morning and wanted a cheque for a thousand pounds on account of his fifty frasilas auction ivory. I wish New York would reduce limits,--he'd have to accept. Can't do it on my own, as they know right well what our limits are, from what we pay in Zanzibar. Oh, well, I suppose we ought to be satisfied,-Childs have to pay two Zanzibar plunks more.

Old Tejpar has been earning his baksheesh lately.

One of the Millikey's favorite ones is about the London cabby who yelled to the other as he drove past.

"Wot's the matter with you?"

"Nothinks the matter with me."
