My feller sh'zen was in rather a destructive mood last night. So were some of the others, for the hotel folks put down forty chips for "breakages" in my bill.

"One candle shade, two dinner plates, two champagne glasses, six tumblers, curtain, butter knife, bent spoon, damage to knives, window, two chairs broken, etc."
So reads the indictment

Garrels got back from up-country today. He says it's all right to pass through ^[[once]], but never again for his, and that he was never so damned glad in all his life to get back to civilization. He wouldn't live in Entebbe nor Nairobi for a thousand a minute, and Zanzibar for his. Little old Zanzibar. By gum, but Zanzibar really is a nice little place, - the prettiest place I've ever seen. I shouldn't mind being there myself.
