Dat old Bootifulmans is getting to be a regular hellion these days. He skins out about six every evening, to avoid being washed, and chases up the street to a widow dog acquaintance of his. He just stays out all night now,- before he used to come home at ten or eleven,- drinkin', gamblin', smokin', swearin', and just raisin' hell generally. Altogether there has been a most deplorable change for the woist.

Butti and I brought his boat over from the Kilindini today. Perhaps I shouldn't claim half the credit. Perhaps I should say that Butti brought me and the boat over from Kilindini today. That would be more the real size of it.
