That "Wild Ass's Skin" is a mighty queer yarn, a mighty queer one. I'm damned if I can understand that epilogue at the end. I've read that blighter over half a dozen times, but it's the same old Greek. That chap's friends must have been a patient lot to listen to that resume of his life, - it was only a mere 95 page chat. Monologue, I should say. It may have been the fashion to spin those things then, but he'd be trun out nowadays.

It ain't a nice book for little girls.

Did a little business today, anyway. Put through 25 tons of chillies. They've been clamoring about that article for so long I'm damned glad they've got it. The way they wrote and cabled leads me to think they supposed chillies could be shovelled up in tons off the ground up there. They wanted a hundred tons in a month! Now they've taken twenty five in three. It must have been WBA., mentionin' no names and spittin' on nobody's shoes.
