I wish there was something to do in the office these days. But there isn't. Everyone is complaining how slow things are.

I hear today that our bosom pal Abdul Rasul left Marseilles today on the "Melbourne". He's due here on the 27th. In view of the last few performances of that antediluvian tub it is perhaps safer just to say the 27th, and omit the month altogether. In that way she may be in on time.

Nothing doing today, so I took a little trip up to Mazeras. It seemed I was only up there a Sunday or two pervious, yet on referring to this record, I find the last time I was up there was in May, - over four months ago. I tell you, the way the time whizzes by out in these parts is simply a caution.

Two years ago today we were in dear ol' Lunnon. And it seems only six months ago we [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] ^[[took in]] the "Empire"!
