First decent shipment in a couple of months today. Sent off 63 on the "Burgermeister." I hope it continues now. The local Amerikani market is simply on the hog. Money is worth it's weight in gold, so you can [[underlined]] see [[/underlined]] the rupee must be pretty scarce. Spot goods are ten rupees less than goods from New York. But we got in a few good licks while we had the chance, and the list of importations tomorrow will show us on top.

The end of every quarter seems to come around mighty quick around here. It seems to me I was writing out all those bloomin' accounts only week before last, and now I've got 'em staring me in the face again.

Carougeau, Gessner and myself had a terribly important confab with Major over the Kilindini Customs scheme this afternoon. These customs people think they can shift trade and ^[[business]] dasturi by legislation, but I'm afraid they will come somewhat of a cropper. I'm glad it's not my money they're spending over there.
