Went up to the Sports Club today for the first time in a flock of moons, blue, green-cheese, and all kinds. I met the fair American up there, and we won two sets together, just to show 'em what the Yanks could do when they really cared.

She comes from around the sou'western corner of Lake Mitchigan, all right.

Got some good exercise up at the Mnazi Moja today, and I needed it.

Besseling got 171 points, mostly off Bröde, in the club tonight. All between seven and eight, but then they were playing double. But not for mine. I came out square, which isn't so bad in these times. I regret however, that I didn't quite make my club bill last month, but had to fork over ninetyfive rupee cents instead.

It's 'ard, bloomin' 'ard.
