Well, you see I've lost at Bridge last month. Two whole rupees and thirteen annas, or, to put it in real money, ninety four cents. However, considering that the reserve account is in the neighborhood of fifty five plunks, I guess we can stand it, all right.

Oh, but old Tejpar is sore at me. It's himself he's really sore at, but he puts it on me, instead, - it doesn't hurt him so much to think of it then. I knew Childs were trying to make trouble about lots of Alidina's, so I told Tejpar to bring them here and I'd give him a hundred Chips. No, he must have two hundred, otherwise he wouldn't bring the stuff here. He argued a long time, and as I stood pat on one hundred, he finally [[strikethrough]] said [[/strikethrough]] walked out saying we wouldn't get the wory, kabisa, and that we'd be sorry, too. Little while later in came a wire from Zanzibar saying they'd arranged with Abdul Rasul there! Poor old Tejpar!
