Stood up Besse for tonight's dinner. 

'E says the bloody stars don't travel across the sky! 'E claims to be a hamateur hastronomer, too, but I've got him by the mavugi tupi this time. I've seen 'em do it, lots of times, and only one whisky soda, too! I think he put up five chips on it.

That reminds me of that bet of Garrels that I've got to collect. Teddy did get licked for mayor of New York, and that's worth ten dibs to me as soon as I get a clipping to prove it.

Well, well, we started out to Sheikh in Besse's motor this afternoon, to see the [[strikethrough]] ziarha[[/strikethrough]] ziara there. We got about a mile out beyond the barrier gate, and then the dummed thing bust down. She limped along a little, however, after a prolonged wait and a chota peg, and we turned homeward. Coming up the hill between the tunnels we got out and pushed, which I used to consider was a joke. But I know better now.
