Yes, it sure does beat hell the way the girls at home carry on the minute my back is turned. First there was Esther. She got engaged, then she got hitched, and in the proper sequence of things, she caught a little Baker.

The last [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] shock comes from the kentry, and is news that Millie, the daughter of Frank, has also been overtaken with a family. The next thing I expect to hear is that Louis is getting suspiciously stout.

Ye gods! Sale ho!! I caught Mohamedally for 125. I sold them 2 1/2 dibs below my limit, and without any authority, but I am mighty sure there was no kick when they rec'd the fatal wire. Well, anyway, I guess two plunks and a quarter per bale on a falling and dull market is not so terribly worse.

Benine, in happy ignorance, sent me over his gharri this afternoon, and I drove down to Point for a change. Had he known the above, though, I fear me I had not been so sporty.
