Took a bloomin' drive down to the bloomin' club this afternoon. The band is down there every Wednesday afternoon now, and it's not bad at all.

Offle, offle hot these days and the wind--pfui!

Respectable Limerick:

"There was a young man from the West,
Who proposed to the girl he loved best;
So close did he press her,
That when she said "Yes, sir,"
He broke three cigars in his vest."

The "Gertrud Woermann", with Ilford on board, came in this morning, and I went down to Point to fetch him off. He complains that Aden looks the same as ever, and is slightly sore at himself [[strikethrough]] from [[/strikethrough]] for tearing himself away from those twins.

Went down again in the afternoon, to say a fond and affectionate farewell to Belle, who is going down to a short visit at Nairobi. She is all right, and I hate to lose her.
