Domestic occurrence here this morning. Mrs. Bitters (née Cocktail) of three sons and two daughters. Mother and children are doing well. [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] We're expecting another family here any day, too. [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] Lord knows what I'm going to do with 'em all. I wonder how many Cocktail'll have? I suppose the next thing I'll be pinched for running a lying-in hospital without a license. Gee whiz, but this is a hard life.

Gee whiz, but here I'm past the three year mark. Three years day before yesterday the three of us venturesome youths started out from Gay Gotham. Little did I reck I should be the sole survivor. Knock wood, - there's plenty of time yet in which to go under worse than they did. You bet your life I'm going to take care of myself this last hot season. For this is one hell of a place.

I s'pose Vining is in Jersey now.
