[[preprinted]]Sunday, January 1, 1911[[/preprinted]]
Well, boys, this is the
year I go home, and the
year, D.V., I go and do it.
And I'm lookin' forward
to both with a great deal
of relish, I don't mind
telling you.
    Along about nine the
mail came in, and I went
off on board to say
bon voyage to the Comstock
party. They certainly were
a diversion while they
were here. Later on Smith's
boat showed up, and he
blew me to a new Years
dinner on board. And
so to bed, damned tired
out with the past month.
It was a strenuous one.
    So starteth the
new year, and I wish
meself joy.
