I was quite content to stay on the "Norman" myself. The Bay itself is a large one, and the surrounding hills looked not unlike, in the misty air, the shores of the Red Sea. The climate was hardly similar. Put on my sweater and coat, and wasn't too warm, neither.

13th. After a very good night around Agulhas, and a fine passage in general around the coast, we tied up to the dock in Capetown at about eight o'clock. The mountains, as we came in were strangely reminiscent of Aden, but it was gosh darned cold, I don't mind telling you. The mist hung over Table Mountains as we came in, and it was

overcast generally, but still it was a fine sight as we beat it up to the breakwater. It's raining now. Inshallah it will stop. I want to go up town.

I did go up town, also out to Camp's Bays, and back over Kloof's neck. Beautiful. Simply great. Then I went out to Wynberg,- a pretty little suburb, which I wanted to immejiate. But almost froze to death. I must say this is a pretty place, and all I expected it to be. I'm just back on board ship, and I'm [[strikethrough]] (illegible) [[/strikethrough]] going to turn in,- and pull the blankets over me!
