November 23rd 1890 (Sunday)

It rained all day Monday, I did not go out. In the evening we had the German Play which we have been studying quite a while. Alfred takes the part of a young girl of 18 and Regi and I are old lady friends. It went off very nicely. Fraulein said I took my part splendidly, and was charming. Mama & Papa were the only audience, but I think

They quite enjoyed it. 

Regi and I rode Tuesday afternoon together. He is getting along nicely, at the beginning of the season he could not possible ride alone, and now he sits his horse very well, and does not seem a bit afraid.
Wednesday Papa and I rode.

As the time approaches for us to go away, I thought Wednesday evening, I feel sadder and sadder.
