Minstrel day Am taking it easy. Altho will have to go in town sometime today. Tomorrow I take Bertha to Springfield. Hope she can get some relief Came home and Clarence told me Royal Hill had dropped dead at the Grange Hall. Such a shock. I could not get to sleep.

Mother was sick and called for me at a quarter of six Called the Dr fanned her for an hour Then she got easier I had promised Bertha to take her to Springfield 2 months ago So Gwynn got his chores done And stayed with her. Came back then selected flowers for Royal from the Grange Mr Messe said he would make a sickle we went out in the evening and took some roast pork It was scrappy As I had to cut it to put it in the pressure
