[[checkmark, bullet point]] My bladder trouble was rampant today so I brought some of Willie's sulfa pills this afternoon and will take the cure tomorrow - at least I hope it will be the cure.

Played some "football catch" with Reg this afternoon after we had listened to the Cardinals beat the Yankees 2-0 in the third game of the World Series, the Cards now leading 2 games to 1 and all of us jubilant to see at last a team that can give the almost unchallenged Yanks a real run for their money.

The new stove came this afternoon and we had the devil's own time getting it into the kitchen and the old one out to the back porch, necessitating the removal of two doors including the swing one into the dining room. The upshot was that I had to a lot of heavy work getting them reswung and my bladder complaint was worse than ever - all of which makes me wonder if straining myself has anything to do with it, something I have long suspected.

This evening announced President Roosevelt's decree that all wages and salaries are frozen as of Sept. 1st so my raise was in the nick of time. However, I'm glad this real effort to control inflation is active now - it will mean a lot to all of us in the future.

Spent a pleasant evening at the Downie's during which I very nearly fell asleep but made a comeback later. Was glad to pile into bed about midnight and not have to get up any particular time tomorrow.
