[[x]] 4.) McLeod, late in the evening standing very unevenly and precariously over a table shooting craps at a buck a throw and in danger of falling down on his face at any moment. He was still at it at 1:30 AM when we left.

[[checkmark]] 5.) I, trying to be nice to McLeod and Grace, and taking a terrible ribbing every time I returned to the sidelines where Matt, Joe and Ed accused me of putting on the greatest exhibition of "kiss ass" they had ever seen.

[[checkmark]] 6.) I having a long talk with Stevenson, who got off on the subject of G.E. to Matt Tate, with us, and my realization I have the reputation of a great company to uphold down here. Also realizing Stevenson OK.

[[checkmark]] 7.) Seeing Charlie Whitehead gradually passing through his famed transition from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde as he drank on and on winding up in his getting absolutely nasty to Stevenson and threatening to take a swing at him (usually he swings first and talks afterward) - it was over Hanly principally, Charlie insisting Stevenson was "taken in" by Hanly, used poor judgment in selecting him, etc. - also Charlie took severe exception to remarks Stevenson made about shutting down the automobile industry. For a few minutes I feared we would have a scene and maybe an outright fight at the table but Ed Harley got up and just swore Charlie down - told him to shut up - Ed was also deep in his cups and afraid of nobody, like a bantam rooster.

[[checkmark]] 8.) Ed Harley telling Stevenson about things that had been burdening his soul such as "wild hairs growing about Thursday," overworking Vic, sending Marshall to Schenectady, etc. Stevenson came right back and Ed was so mad sometimes all he could do was shake his head violently back and forth and growl through clenched teeth. Ed and Charlie Whitehead also had some hot arguments and kept hurling back and forth, "You're ass is [[?]]!"
