discuss the situation in general and they both said to forget it - whereupon I did very largely. I did learn that Evans had been talking to Walker Anderson of our Pittsburgh Office about me being in WPB trying to put Evans out of business! But I guess my greatest worry must have been with what G.E. might think about it all.

[[checkmark]] Whitey informed me I had to get out of WPB completely as of Dec. 31st, according to Chet Lang - no Dollar a Year on a day or two a week basis - only go down and "consult" on no basis. Of course that would be out of the question. So the problem is still with me, it seems. Whitey says Wally Skuce has resigned from the Company and gone on the government payroll at $8000 a year as one of Eberstadt's assistants - same salary as Charlie Wilson gets.

[[checkmark]] Whitey also requested me to tear up a letter Francis Suleski had written me regarding steel the Company can't get on AA4 - that actually so much steel is pouring in on AA4 that it is getting embarassing - no one had tipped Francis off and he was going by the steel peddler's chatter when they come around demanding AA1.

[[checkmark]] At home enjoyed Sunday breakfast any my special omelette, cleaned up my accounts, fixed the furnace chains, etc. and saw a little of the family. I had to try to cheer Mother up who seems to be getting very worried and nervous again. Willie was delighted with the new electric iron I brought home from Washington - my drugstore acquisition. In the afternoon watched a game of six man football over in Tracy Place but was disappointed Rog was only in for a couple of plays while I was there - they went through him twice and he was taken out (at end) - later I guess he got in and played. He's coming all right though, I feel sure
