[[underlined]] Called Willie to tell her my resignation [[/underlined]] is in, as I know she has been worried over the prospect of having to move down here. Went to bed at 9:30 PM only to be bothered by bell boy messages and telephone calls from Mat Tate until nearly 11 PM demanding I get dressed and join him downstairs for just one drink - or else; he would come up, batter in the door, and bring me down forcibly.
