Dear Mrs. Porter:

These few lines to ask you whether you can spare me a few minutes one afternoon this week. I recall that when you were here last year with Nicky de Gunz- burg you had shown such keen enjoyment for the pictures you saw that afternoon.

We just acquired five of the most important 19th century canvases from the celebrated collection of Mme. Jacques Doucet which I am eager for you to see. I guarantee you a real treat, and let me carry you off to the spell of masters such as Van Gogh, Renoir, Degas and Manet.

Many thanks for your most courteous note regard-ing the books which I hope you enjoyed.

I shall be looking forward to seeing you soon and meanwhile remain - with my kindest personal re-gards to you and Cole,

Always faithfully,

(R. H. Waegen)
