Dear Mr.Furthman,
I returned to New York and to my surprise found that Mr. Seligmann had gone to Europe for a short time and, therefore, as I would like very much to discuss the pictures from your collection with him before taking any action, I am afraid it will be impossible to give you any definite decision at the present writing. However, I feel it will only be a matter of a very few weeks before this matter can be decided upon. I think, however, as I told you in California, that there are several items which we might be able to dispose of and feel confident that we can settle this matter satisfactorily in a short time.

I want to take this opportunity of thanking you for your efforts in connection with Mrs. Warner and other people on the coast. If, of course, in your conversation with different people in Hollywood you can wave the flag for the cause of art and manage to send someone in to me here in New York, it would be greatly appreciated. I know, in any case, that you are sufficiently interested in art matters to see several worthwhile collections spring up in Hollywood.
It was grand seeing you again, and I look forward to another meeting sometime soon.
With best wishes,
Please believe me to be
Yours very sincerely,
(Robert M. Levy)
P.S. I will keep the photographs for the time being and perhaps may be able to do something from them directly prior to Mr. Séligmann’s return.
