[[underlined]] SUGGESTED DRAFT [[/underlined]]

Dear Mr. Baderou:

A few days ago, in the course of a letter referring to other matters Mr. J. Byam-Shaw of the firm P. &. D. Colnaghi & Co., London, asked me whether I had heard of a RAPHAEL drawing auctioned in Paris a little while ago.

I immediately answered that not only had I heard about it but that while I was in Paris in January, you the purchaser of the drawing had been good enough to show it to me. To which I added that I consider it a most interesting drawing indeed, but that unfortunately due to the limited time at my disposal, while I was abroad, I had not been able to study it further, nor to do the amount of research such a work required.

I strongly recommended to Mr. Byam Shaw that he communicate[[strikethrough]]d[[/strikethrough]] with you as I feel certain, bnot only that he would greatly enjoy seeing it, but being one of the leaders in this field of drawings he might well be much interested in it from a business angle.

You will not mind, I am sure my having written in this vein, for as you no doubt know by now, it is no longer a secret that you are the happy owner of this drawing, and I am convinced that you will enjoy hearing Mr. Byam-Shaw's comments on it, when he will call upon you, as I assume he will.

I thought I should tell you of the above, so that you should not be surprised to hear from Mr. Byam-Shaw or at his mentioning my name in this connection should he do so.

With best greetings,

Sincerely yours,
