Gentlemen:

We beg to acknowledge receipt of your registered letter dated February 13th, 1933, addressed to the Hon.Wm.R.Hearst, in care of our firm, covering shipment of twenty cases containing:

one large mantel in faïence, German work of the XVIth cent.

one carved stone mantel, French work of the XVIIth century

marked SD 6823/6842, arrived ex s.s."Lafayette". We also acknowledge receipt of the consular invoice and one photograph of each mantel.

Please be advised that the shipment is now having our attention for prompt Customs clearance and delivery.

Would you be kind enough to inform us if the above shipment has been covered by insurance, and ifso, against what risks, in the event any damage is disclosed at the time of Customs examination.
