Mrs. Daniel Guggenheim,
Ritz-Carlton Hotel,
New York, New York.

Dear Mrs. Guggenheim:

I just send you a line because I am quite in a hurry, as I am leaving for Chicago in a few minutes.

I want to draw your attention to one of the finest paintings by Fragonard, which has ever been brought to this country. I would like you very much to see it, as it is just the type and quality picture that you would like to buy, if you can spare the time within the next few days. We have been asked to send the picture back to Paris, and it is probable that the French Government will not allow us to export it again.

I have announced your visit to our Mr. Trevor, as I will be away for a week and will then be in New York for but a short time, as I am going back myself to Paris.

The picture has to be sent back early in May, and I hope that you will be able to see it before it leaves.

With my best regards to you and Mr. Guggenheim, whom I am looking forward to seeing upon my return,

Believe me,
Yours very sincerely,
