Dear Mr. Trevor:

I have received your favor of the 7th instant, asking whether I wish to dispose of my Rembrandt, "Lucretia Stabbing Herself," and would accept $125,000 for it.

In reply I have to say that the painting now has its place among my pictures, and it would not suit me to dispose of it.
