David E. Finley, Esq.,
Treasury Department,
Washington, D.C.

Dear Mr. Finley:

Your very kind letter of November 30th reached me this morning - for which I thank you very much indeed, as well as for your endeavors in bringing the matter of the Prince Metternich Portrait by SIR THOMAS LAWRENCE to Secretary Mellon's attention.

I intend coming to Washington on Wednesday or Thursday next week, and shall let you know the exact date by telegram. I am indeed looking forward very much to seeing you again and hope to find you in the best of health.

Meanwhile I am sending you enclosed a page of tomorrow's N.Y.Times, which it might interest you to see, as there are some of the wonderful Eighteenth Century paintings reproduced which we have on exhibition here at present until the 15th of December.

With my kindest regards, believe
