Dear Mr. Whitney:

Some time ago I wrote you to California, regarding your

RENOIR: "MOULIN DE LA GALETTE"

Perhaps the letter did not reach you, and on the other hand, I do not want you to think that I am bothering you too much about this matter. However, as I am trying to finish up certain matters and plans for the coming year before leaving New York for the summer, I am enclosing a copy of my last letter to you, and sincerely hope that you will see your way clear to loaning us this magnificent picture.

I can only say that since last writing you, we have had extraordinary success in the prominent loans that have been promised us, and we are very gratified by the answers that have come in so far.

Awaiting the favor or your reply, and thanking you in advance,

Believe me to be,

Yours sincerely,

(Robert M. Levy)
