Dear Mary:

What splendid news this morning's mail brought and I want to be among the very first to express my congratulations on your so well deserved promotion.

Will the vice presidency offer you more leisure time? Probably not, I am afraid, as it entails greater responsibilities, but did you not already carry all these without having the title?

Be this as it may, you should feel very pround of your achievements which led to this recognition to which all your friends applaud.

Ethlyne and I hope that we will have the pleasure of seeing you ere long and thus convey our congratulations viva vocce.

With kindest thoughts,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
