Dear Mr. Emerson:

It would give me much pleasure to have an opportunity of showing you my most reent purchase-

"A Woman Portrait" by LUDVIO CARRCACCI,

Which a few weeks ago was included in the Caracci Exhibition at Bologna, where it was much admired. Also, an impressive painting of

"The Vision of St. Joseph" by PHILLIPPE DE CHAMPAIGNE,

truly a monumental work of that period. You may recall that I had an opportunity of showing it to you several years ago, but having remained since at my warehouse, I only brought it out anew recently.

And finally, a portrait of

"A Prosecutor of San Marco" by TINTORETTO

which has been entrusted to me for sale, acting thus as agent. Besides its intrinsic merit, it has the advantage of a very low price.

Looking forward to having your visit in the not too distant future I hope, with peronal regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
