Dear Friend:

This book on SIGNS AND SYMBOLS IN CHRISTIAN ART was conceived over seven years ago when the writer studied more than sixty volumes to enable him to answer or explain their meanings in the paintings to young children.

Is has been written by the author from the Holy Bible text so that children and their parents are enabled, for the first time in history, to ascertain the meaning of signs and symbols by exact Bible references.

We hope that an increasing number of parents and children will obtain a deeper appreciation of the message which artists of the past attempted to convey to the public at a time when a limited number of people of the world were able to read or write.

May all of you obtain a deeper spiritual impression through the exact interpretation of the New Testament and, to a limited extent, the Old Testament when studying religious subject paintings in the museums of art, not only of our country, but of other nations of the world.

Yours sincerely,
