Dear Mr. Emerson:

This is but a very short note just to tell you that I had this morning Mr. Germain Bazin's visit, Chief Curator of Paintings at the Louvre, to whome I was of course eager to show my great French Primitive of "The Trinity".

His laudatory comments as regards its quality and his emphasis onthe scarcity of much works today, as well as his opinion, concurring so precisely with my personal views, as to date and origin, prompt me ot write you in this vein. I thought that both you and Mr. John Walker might like to know about it.

In other words Mr. Bazin is of the opinion that it is a French Primitive of around 1470, and in which the influence of Fouquet is clearly felt, as well as the link to the Maitre de Mouline - hence his impression that the center of France, perhaps even the Loire region, could have been the seat of its origin.

Trusting I may hear further from you in connection with the truly exception painting,

with personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
