Music Department

As the curtains of harmony and rhythm were drawn upon the 1930-31 school year, the Wiley College music lovers were greeted with liquid sounds pouring forth from the magical touch of keys and the harmonious blending of voices.

Again the Music Department is led to the attainment of nobler heights under the skilful tutorage of Professor Norton E. Dennis whose great achievements in the realm of music are universally known and lauded. Wiley cherishes him as her own and joins heartily in acclaiming him a master of this art.

With the assistance of Mesdames Denson and Teycer, both claiming Oberlin Conservatory as their Alma Mater, the following calendar was successfully presented to the students and visitors.

A student recital conducted by the piano students, October 17. In this opening performance we welcomed the new talent that turned to Wiley for its further development as well as greeted again that of the preceding year.

We were reminded of the days of war and the soothing calmness of peace as was portrayed so vividly by Professor Dennis on the pipe organ during the Vesper hour, Sunday, November 9.
