Consequently, after months of work, Mr. Kimball put his helicopter aside to await another motor, and the point has yet to be settled whether or not the blade area of a score of small propellers acting horizontally forms as effective and safe a support as the ordinary rigid surface of an aeroplane.

The second apparatus started on was a striking interesting glider designed by C. J. Hendrickson, which foreshadowed to a singular degree the now famous "Demoiselle" of Santos Dumont.
