Bygone Times And Travel

America's earliest aviators were a bountiful blend of Phineas T. Barnum and Robert Fulton, J.P. Morgan and Bill Hickok. They had elan and old-fashioned daring, mechanical talents and an endless curiosity. The pioneers on these pages have gone with the wind: history has forgotten some and elevated others. Their spirit and their conquest is indomitable.
