at boat were Sam & Jeanette, Harriet & Charles, who took me to pier, Dorothy Blake, Speed & Gertrude, Buddy, John, Richard Augoing [[?]], Bill & Lucille.

Sept. 9-

What is there to say about this great city.  The sights, the lights.  The hills, the white skies and the sun in square patterns; the dark green and gray pines along the coast, and the intense cold beauty of the slow ocean at the Beach; the stark islands of fog and of rocks in a sea that showed no horizon; the red bridge and the white fog rolling in , seen from [[strikethrough]] at [[/strikethrough]] Lincoln Park.
