Sir: I have the honor to submit herewith a report upon work done during the month of May, 1890, in the Department of Birds:- [[underlined]] Accessions [[/underlined]] The number of specimens entered in the museum register of birds during May is 578 (catalogue numbers 117771-118348, inclusive), the only important accession being the following:- [[underlined]] Dr. W. L. Abbott, [[/underlined]] Zanzibar, East Africa. - 577 specimens (number of species not yet determined) from the region about Kilimanjaro,
