were seen feeing with Snow Geese in rice stubble.  E.C. Krause reported them
as common at the mouth of the San Bernard River in Brazoria County.  These
birds were known locally as "Brant."

[indented]  Seen near Bay City Jan. 1.  Fairly common near Markham and Simpsonville
Jan.2.  Flocks were feeding in pastures and in rice stubble.

[indented]  A few were seen near Bay City Jan 1 and blow Markham Jan. 2. 

Ardes herodias. [underlined]

[indented]  Seen near Matagorda on Jan. 1 and 2.

Grus americana. [underlined]

[indented]  Reported as fairly common at this season n the coast region from
Matagorda east to the mouth of the San Bernard River in Brazoria County.  [handwritten] None seen.

[indented]  A dozen seen in a canal at Eagle Lake Dec. 27

Gallinago delicata. [underlined]

[indented]  See at Eagle Lake on Dec. 25 and 27.  On the latter day birds were seen
feeding in the open on soft and exposed along a canal.  When frightened they
ran ashore and hid in vegetation but soon came back again to their feeding sat-
ion.

Pisobia minutilla. [underlined]
