A few minutes later I hear male call and see him 150 feet away with female. Both swim toward one another with head & neck straight up. When a foot apart they stop & then swing half around presenting tails & nearly touching. At the same time turning [[strikethrough]] tail [[/strikethrough]] head alertly from side to side. Male holds wing tips partly raised, back feathers elevated and feathers of sides of head slightly puffed out. They turn and pause at 10-15 second intervals for nearly 10 minutes.
