Mallard has mating flight somewhat on order of gadwall.  Two males & more female in air. Female swings alternately to one & the other.  Males pass in front of her [[sething]] wings and throwing head up, Males call continually & female quacks occasionally.

nest at base of dead sage which arched over it made of grasses bind with finer material four young ♀ ran off in erratic course, wings spread above back.
