29. Belasphorus platycercus (Swainson)

Broad-tailed Hummingbird.

This Hummer was fairly common in the Chusca Mountains and I heard or saw the birds daily. Onewas seen near Red Lake on June 26 and one at Crystal on June 27. A female was shot on the high mesa on June 30 and on July 3 the birds were common in Cottonwood Pass.

30. [[underline]] Tyrannus vociferans [[/underline]] Swainson.

Cassin's Kingbird.

This Flycatcher was observed near the trading post at Crystal on June 27 and July 3 and 4.

31. Sayornis Sayus (Bonaparte)

Say's Phoebe.

The Say's Phoebe was seen at the store at Crystal, N. M., on June 27 and the following morning one awakened me at daybreak by calling loudly and persistently from a perch on a dead limb a few feet above my head. A nest found here on a ledge above a door in an outbuilding, contained 5 eggs. These had not yet hatched when I examined the nest again on the morning of July 4. One of these phoebes was observed near the Haystacks, inside the New Mexican line on the evening of July 4.

32. Nuttallornis borealis (Swainson)

Olive-sided Flycatcher.

Single birds were heard calling in Cottonwood Pass, above Crystal on June 28 and July 3.
