[[underlined]] National Armed Forces Museum Advisory Board [[/underlined]]

Mr. Ripley reported that, with the approval of the Executive Committee of the Board of Regents in March 1980, the Smithsonian has recommended to the White House that General Andrew J. Goodpaster be appointed by the President to the National Armed Forces Museum Advisory Board to fill the seat left vacant by the death of John Nicholas Brown. At the same time, it was recommended that Professor Theordore Ropp, whose term expired on April 9, be reappointed to the Advisory Board. These recommendations were made under the provisions of Public Law 87-186, which created the NAFMAB. The correspondence to the White House is copied below. The President has not yet acted on the recommended appointments.

The Regents wished to ratify the actions taken by the Executive Committee and the Secretary, and it was

VOTED that the Board of Regents endorses the recommendation to the President that General Andrew J. Goodpaster and Professor Theodore Ropp by appointed to the National Armed Forces Museum Advisory Board under the provisions of Public Law 87-186.
