With the approval of the Board, the following steps will be taken:

(1) Working with experts in the area of historic conservation, an appropriate restricted use easement, or similar device, will be formulated to give protection to Belmont House and immediate environs, taking into account alternative or adaptive uses for the property.

(2) A further appraisal will be obtained from a second firm to evaluate the effect of such an easement on the market value.

(3) The property will be listed with a qualified realty firm, in the event a direct sale to the State of Maryland does not occur.

Following discussion, the Regents adopted the following resolution:

VOTED that the Board of Regents authorizes the Secretary to sell the Belmont Conference Center and property, with the approval of the Chairman of the Executive Committee on specific terms of sale.
