LEGISLATION

[[underlined]] Regents Resolutions [[/underlined]]

S.J. Res. 180 and S.J. Res. 181, measures providing for the reappointment of Mr. Burden and Dr. Gell-Mann respectively, were introduced on June 4, reported by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration on June 18, and passed on June 26.

Companion measures in the House were introduced May 28.  On July first the Committee on House Administration ordered reported the Senate-passed measures which were approved by the House on July 22 and signed by the President on July 25.

[[underlined]] National Museum Act [[/underlined]]

The Committee on House Administration ordered reported S.1786, the Senate-passed bill authorizing further appropriations under the National Museum Act, on May 20, and it was approved by the House on June 4.  It was signed by the President on June 13.

[[underlined]] International Exchange Service [[/underlined]]

H.R. 7302, legislation providing for the transfer from the Smithsonian Institution to the Superintendent of Documents of the function of exchanging U.S. Government documents with governments abroad was introduced on May 7, ordered reported by the Committee on House Administration on May 20, passed by the House on June third, and referred to the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration on June fourth.
