here in a few days, on the journey North, and get as far as possible while the travelling is good, from now until the 1st of December is the pleasantest time of the year to travel in , or rather, I should say from the 1st of September to 1st December.  The month of December is stormy and the snow does not get sufficiently packed.  I expect to be able to move very little during that month.  The Governor will order for me the Tonguese with their reindeer, and also provide a Cossack, a man used to travelling and who understands the Tonguese & Takoolsk languages, as well as the ways of the people and how to manage them, besides being an under officer and clothed with authority he will be able to smooth little difficulties that may appear.  We have to use reindeer all the way to Ockholsk, from there to Geshagah dogs may be used, as there are no roads and the deer are not trained to haul, one has to ride on them.  A deer is packed as a load with two (2) poods or 80 lbs. there is no road between here and Aian nor ever was
